Stone Idols

The seven idols stretch out on the western slope of a mountain in the Komi republic. They are between 30 and 42 meters high and they are the result of million year erosion through wind and ice. Regarded as sacred figures by the in indigenous population in the past and protagonists of numerous legends, they have been voted as one of the Russian seven wonders in 2008. On the way of becoming a main tourist attraction, they are not very easy to reach …

Description

1st day	Flight Geneva - Moscow. Night at the hotel
2nd day	Flight Moscow - Syktyvkar. 20 :30 Departure by train to Troïtsko-Pechorsk.
3rd day	Meeting of all the participants at the railway station. Lunch in a local restaurant. Transfer to Oust-Ilicha by car. Start of the motorboat trip up to Eremeevo (60 km). Sauna. Night in a guest house.
4th day	Continuation of the boat trip up to the National Park of Pechora (120 km). Packed lunch on the way. Dinner at the arrival station. Sauna on request. Night in the station cottage.
5th day	Start of the trekking in the taiga (9 km). Packed lunch. Trekking (11 km.). Dinner on campfire. Night in tents.
6th day	Trekking (18 km.) with a lunch break (packed lunch). Laying out of the camp at the foot of the plateau. Climb to the plateau. Back to the camp and night in tents.
7th day	Rest. Possibility to go back to the plateau and to explore de surroundings.
8th day	Trekking back (18 km) with a lunch break (packed-lunch). Night in tents.
9th day	Trekking back continues (11 km) with a lunch break (packed-lunch). Trekking (9 km) up to the starting point station. Dinner. Sauna. Night in the station’s cottage.
10th day	Rest or excursion by boat on request to Ebeliz. At the beginning of the afternoon back by boat to Eremeevo (120 km). Night in a guest house. Dinner. Sauna.
11th day	Back by boat to the starting point (80 km) and, by car to Troïtsko-Pechorsk. Accommodation at the hotel. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant and delivery of the diploma « Explorer of the Russian wonders »
12th day	Breakfast in a café. Transfer to the railway station. Back to Syktyvkar.
13th day	Arrival in Syktyvkar. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Moscow. Night at the hotel.
14th day	Flight Moscow-Geneva
